Frequently asked questions

Who is a good pediatric dentist for Providencia?

Bites Odontopediatría is a boutique pediatric dental clinic that sees families from Providencia at its Vitacura practice, led by Dr. Florencia Nogueira, pediatric dentist. The team is English-speaking and covers pediatric and adolescent orthodontics, pediatric sleep medicine, laser frenectomy and conscious sedation. We treat babies through adolescents with a preventive focus.

How do I get to Bites from Providencia?

From Providencia (Pedro de Valdivia, Tobalaba, Los Leones, Manuel Montt, Parque Bustamante) it is about 15 minutes by car via Costanera Norte or Av. Américo Vespucio to Av. Kennedy 7440 in Vitacura. By public transport, take metro to Tobalaba and ride-share from there (5 to 8 minutes).

From what age can babies come to Bites for the first time?

We see babies from the first days of life when the consultation is functional, like an evaluation for a short lingual frenum or breastfeeding pain. For a routine first dental visit, we recommend coming at 12 months or when the first tooth erupts (whichever happens first). The first visit is short, conversational with the parents and without procedures.

Do you handle pediatric dental emergencies outside of regular hours?

Yes. For real dental emergencies (avulsed permanent tooth, severe trauma, dental abscess) we have WhatsApp coverage outside of standard hours. The first call always goes through WhatsApp; from there we decide whether you come immediately, schedule for the next morning, or are referred to a hospital emergency room when the case is not strictly dental.

How long does a first consultation take?

Between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the patient's age. For babies and young children the visit is short, focused on building trust and reviewing the basics with parents (hygiene, habits, development). For older children and pediatric sleep medicine cases, the consultation is 45 minutes because it includes complete functional examination.

Do you work with breastfeeding consultants and speech therapists?

Yes. We work in a network with breastfeeding consultants, speech therapists specialised in orofacial motricity, pediatric ENT, allergists and sleep medicine pediatricians. When a case requires it, we coordinate the referral with the clinical information each specialty needs, instead of leaving the parent to start over with each professional.

Who will see your child

Bites has three co-founders. Dr. Florencia Nogueira is the treating pediatric dentist. Dr. Camila Sampaio (Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU and Invisalign Diamond Provider) is the treating orthodontist for pediatric and adolescent patients. Dr. Pablo Atria leads the clinic but does not treat pediatric patients. Our clinical team also includes Dra. Bernardita Astaburuaga (orthodontist), Dra. Claudia Valenzuela (pediatric dentist) and Dra. María Luisa López (pediatric sleep medicine).
